Routine Testing, Functional Pathology and Genetic Analysis

A variety of pathology, functional or genetic testing may be necessary in order to identify and understand the root cause of disease, illness or imbalance; as well as provide markers that demonstrate insight into how physiological can be optimised even in the absence of disease.

Many hours are spent interpreting your routine blood results through a more holistic lens in order to help you optimise your health, rather than simply be absent from a classified disease. Read more about this optimal window in this blog post.

Testing may also be utilised to establish baseline status and track progress throughout a treatment protocol. A written referral can be provided for your local GP, or a variety of alternative functional and/or genetic tests can be arranged, as necessary, through the Clinic.

Some common tests that may be required are functional testing for intolerances or allergies (hair 500, IgA, IgG, IgE), mental health markers, CDSA (complete digestive stool analysis), SIBO test, hormone panels, OAT (organic acid test), GI map, liver detoxification profile, hair mineral analysis and heavy metals.

Genetic testing to also be done to assess common SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) such as MTHFR, as well as analysis of many other genetic SNPs in order to delve deeper into understanding how your specific genetic makeup may respond differently to food and nutraceuticals (nutrigenetics), and how different nutrients can influence gene expression (nutrigenomics).

*Analysis and interpretation of functional and genetic testing may incur an additional fee which will be discussed prior to initiation.
